berkeley was started in 2005 by Alex Reeves and Sheena Patel, because everyone we knew seemed to have a nightmare story about either being a landlord, a tenant or the agent they had used. We wanted to change this.
Ever heard about agents not sending rent to landlords promptly? Tenants complaining? Properties being dirty? Leaks being left to get worse? Yes, we had too. Hundreds of times!
So we gave up our senior positions with a top London agency and started berkeley from one room in June 2005. Our concept was right as we moved to larger offices in September 2006 and now employ other like minded people.
